If your chosen tyres haven’t been approved yet, don’t let that stop you from entering, ask for your tyre to be approved (see below) then enter online. You won’t need to pay the entry fee when you submit your online entry. We will allow time (and will know) if you have a tyre waiting approval, so will wait for your payment while you are waiting tyre approval.
Event Supplementary Regulations (SR) 10.2
Tyres must be normal road pattern tyres, or winter pattern tyres approved at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course, must comply with GR L3.2 and must be ‘E’ marked. Tyres of diameter 12″ or less can be any pattern. A total of 6 tyres can be used by a crew during the event.
Use of these tyres is prohibited:
i.) those having any of the following patterns, inscriptions or manufacturers’ designations: ‘All Seasons’, ‘Grip’, ‘Snow’, ‘Special Use’, ‘Town & Country’, ‘Mud & Snow’, ‘M+S’, ‘M.S.’, ‘M&S’ or the Three Peaks Mountain or Snowflake symbols, unless on the Event pre-approved list of tyres (see below).
ii.) those showing any signs of the above markings being removed.
iii.) those having additional grooves intentionally cut into the tread pattern [post manufacture].
iv.) those constructed primarily for off-road and motor sport use;
v.) Extreme VR3 tyres will NOT be permitted.

How do I request tyres to be addded to the event approved tyre list
Please send an email to tyres@somersetexmoor.targa.uk by Friday, XXth October, 19:00. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond. Include the exact wording written on the sidewall of your tyres, providing as much detail as possible, including the make and model of the tyre. Please include photos and/or links to the tyre from the manufacturer’s website, the more details you provide the easier it is for us to approve your requested tyres. Please always include a photo of the tread pattern/design.
Within 48 hours, we will reply to either request additional information, approve, or reject your request for the tyre to be included. The decision of the Clerk of the Course is final. If your tyre is approved, it will be added to the additional event-approved tyre list above.
It is your responsibility to seek approval. Our lack of response does not imply approval.
